About
Conor is a Composer, Theatre Maker/Playwright, Songwriter and Performer based in Ireland. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music and English (2015) from University College Cork, focusing on Creative Writing and Composition. He works professionally in a number of disciplines, creating work with a number of Ireland's emerging companies and ensembles such as No Kissin' Ensemble, Strive Theatre, ALSA Productions, Loose Screw, and many more.
His current composition work includes SLSD, (2017) a half rave, half play which has been programmed into the Cork Midsummer Festival, The Dublin Fringe Festival, Electric Picnic and the Imagine Arts Festival. His most recent production of original writing, Will it Fit in the Van?, (2017) is a black comedy that has toured Ireland and will continue its tour at the aforementioned festivals as well as other venues across the country.
Conor has received a number of awards for his music composition from UCC Dramat (Best Musical Composition 2014 & 2015), was nominated for Best Sound Design at the Irish Student Drama Association Festival, 2015 and was Assistant Musical Director for the Chinese Elevator Music Ensemble which won the Best Sound Design award at the ISDA Festival, 2013.
He was nominated for Best New Writing at the ISDA Festival in 2015 and has won two playwriting awards from Waterford City & County Council for Will it Fit in the Van? and To Carrauntohill!
He was chosen to participate in a week-long residency and mentoring programme, MAKE, in the Tyrone Guthrie Centre - an initiative facilitated by The Cork Midsummer Festival, The Dublin Fringe and The Project Arts Centre. He has just finished a year-long mentoring programme with Gare St. Lazare Ireland to focus on multidisciplinary practice in association with the Everyman Palace Theatre, Cork.
