Ross is a director, puppeteer, magician and sometimes a blend of all three.

Ross is currently artistic director of Tortoise in a Nutshell where he directed Scotsman Fringe First winning Feral (co-produced by Cumbernauld Theatre) which has toured throughout the UK and internationally. His most recent project with Tortoise in a Nutshell has been The Lost Things which premiered at the world renowned Imaginate Festival to critical acclaim in 2015. Other directorial credits for the company include Grit and The Last Miner which have previously received Total Theatre Award, Grunshnabel Award and Arches Brick Award nominations. The productions have toured nationally and in to Europe.  

Other credits include Puppetry Director on The BFG (Dundee Rep) and The Last Polar Bears (National Theatre of Scotland) Director on Not Worth a Jot (Dundee Rep Community Company), Assistant Director on Butterfly (Singapore and UK touring) Christmas Carol (National Theatre of Scotland)and Moonlight and Magnolias (Perth Theatre). Ross also directed Suzie Miller’s In The Heart of Darby Park (Oran M’or/Perth Theatre). Ross was named in The List’s Top 10 Directors to look out for in Scotland, the first recipient of the FST’s Supported Director Bursary and an artist on attachment with the National Theatre of Scotland.

He has also appeared on Bargain Hunt and is the proud owner of a Blue Peter badge!
