Hello. I'm Guy, a filmmaker and illustrator.
For the last year I've been a full-time director and artist in London. I run a start-up creative production company called Penny4.
Before that, I spent two years as an editor, filmmaker and producer with 'Vsauce', a YouTube channel with over 11 million subscribers, based at Google UK. I filmed and edited long-form YouTube content that won multiple Streamy and Webby awards in 2014/15 for 'Best Science & Education Channel' and 'Best News & Information Channel'.
In 2013 I directed my first short film called GIRLS WHO READ, based on a poem by Mark Grist. It gained over 3.5 million views, honoured with two Webby Awards and won two Lovie Awards. It was recently featured in a BBC4 documentary called THE PEOPLES' PALACE, based on the London Roundhouse, who funded the project with the Ex-Animo Foundation through their Online Film Fund. From that, I directed three more spoken word films. The first, A TEACHER, EH? was featured in The Times Education Supplement, The Big Issue and shown on Sky News. It was also shared by a personal hero of mine, Sir Ken Robinson. The final film TERRY AND TIARA, my first animated short, is due to be completed in the new year.
I also like to draw, and have recently worked with brands including London Pride and My Challenge HQ. I also wrote, illustrated and filmed a series of dark, fake baby books for adults on my personal YouTube channel. The first, DONALD TRUMP AND THE WIG OF EVIL, was picked up in the Huffington Post and featured in The Guardian, leading to a publishing deal.
