My name is Andrew Smith and I have recently finished at the University of Central Lancashire in England studying Film Production, for which my final grade was a First. During my time at university I directed a feature film project attached to my university, learning a great deal about the structure of film as well as how important and efficient it is to work well within a crew. Studying Film Production, I was given the opportunity to use a wide range of equipment and as a result of this, I feel confident using both new and familiar equipment. Now that I have finished university, I am more focused than ever to learn more about the industry having faced and overcome a lot of onset problems myself, so new experiences in film are something I am focused on finding.
I have previously assisted production in a variety of different roles, undergoing a number of jobs from the standard tea and breakfast run to public management and extra supervision. During my time working on Stabat Mater (now known as AKA Nadia) I was in charge of Sir John Hurt’s meals during his day of shoot. Having the opportunity to work with such a substantial talent was a valuable learning opportunity as I learned how to remain composed and professional around experienced actors. I have been known to be a strong communicator, while having a solid understanding of situations and being able to think ahead in all my environments.
