About
I'm a Dutch playwright and dramaturg and have been working in London for ten years now. I graduated from Goldsmiths MA Writing for Performance with distinction and since then my plays have been performed at The Old Red Lion, The Pleasance, Southwark Playhouse, Theatre503, The Other Palace, RichMix, The Vaults, The Space and the Arcola. Some of the companies that I've worked with include Mountview Academy, Etch Theatre, Actors Awareness, Squint, Little Pieces of Gold, SLAM, Pluck, Theatre1880, Talos, Theatre Renegade and Anima. I’ve also had work produced in Melbourne, Australia by ‘The Owl and Cat Theatre’.
My plays have been shortlisted for HighTide's First Commissions (2017) and long-listed for the Old Vic 12 (2016, 2017), Papatango (2016, 2018) and recently The BBC Script Room Drama (2018).
As a script reader, I've read for the Papatango and Bruntwood prizes. I've also previously worked as the literary manager of the Finborough Theatre in Earl's Court. In 2019 I set up my theatre company 'Mrs C's Collective' alongside Charlotte Everest and Jennie Eggleton. We have since produced three shows, set up a successful Writer's Group and carried out monthly reading groups with special guests including playwrights such as Marina Carr, Mark Ravenhill and Kwame Kwei-Armah. As of 2020 we are also an associate company of The Space Theatre in the Isle of Dogs.
