About
‘It was an absolute joy working with Susan on God's Monkey. For me, projects are always about rehearsals and Susan runs an open yet focussed room where every choice is brave and everyone's voice is heard.’ Brad Birch- Playwright and winner of the 2016 Pinter Commission at The Royal Court.
Stories make me tick. Yours and mine and your next door neighbour’s. Finding beautiful ways to tell stories for an audience is what drives me.
Stories that make us feel less alone and more alive.
In development:
HATCH-
A show about love, death and fertility.
What choices do we make around motherhood and why do we make them? Are our choices our own?
A show carved up and carved out of the collected stories of a series of women all speaking frankly about their choices and non choices. Enlightening, awkward, painful and hilarious- Hatch taps into the varying secret inner workings of women's minds on the subject of birth, pregancy and motherhood.
The stories you didn't know you needed to know.

Project A- 'What does it feel like to live in a place where you don't have a choice?'. A show about abortion and women's stories in Northern Ireland.
Having come from an Acting background (drama school training and 7yrs experience) I moved further into directing/ creating. (Training with Di Trevis). It felt right. Considering a story from multiple perspectives rather than that of one characters journey.
Making Rough Theatre with all the elements that can be begged for, borrowed or stolen, feels urgent and exciting. Rhythms and patterns in texts and stories fascinate me. Rigour and play.
I am a member of Tamasha Developing Writers Programme 2012, Young Vic Springboard 2013, Lincoln Centre Director's Lab NYC 2014.
GAP Salon (Gender and performance) is an organisation i co-founded in 2013, we are artist advocates working for better gender represantation in theatre. www.gapsalon.wordpress.com
