About
I am very excited to be part of Hiive and I think I can be a good addition to it.
For the first couple of years after graduating I worked on lots of low budget and student short films, which meant I had to be able to multitask and fill up the gaps when necessary.
2015 was a very good year and an important one for my career: I got my first professional work as a Script Supervisor on a short film for Creative England and in the feature Don’t Knock Twice and worked on my first multi million pound production as a location marshal for Spectre. I made lots of invaluable contacts and I am now represented as a runner by Calltime Company. I also learnt that films don’t always turn out the way you expect them and one of the productions I was working on was cancelled after just 2 days of filming.
In 2016 I tried to learn more about Script Supervising by shadowing industry professionals as well as working on my second feature, Amy and Sophia, and my first TV Movie, Dead Man's Cove (featuring children and dogs!). I also continued to work on high end productions as a runner and location marshal to learn more about what it is like to live and work in film.
In 2017 I have worked on several comemrcial to branch out, I've done my first charity film for help refugees, and my goal is to become a trainee/assistant on high end productions.
My time at art school made me a lot more interested in different kinds of art and how people express themselves, as well as providing basic drawing, ceramics and sculpture knowledge.
At University I learned about how different countries and legal systems work, how to conduct myself in a professional manner and address your client, which can be very similar to the hierarchical film and TV business.
The jobs I have held outside of the industry prepared me to deal with social media, help people over the phone, take things one step at a time and be able to think for myself, reporting to my superiors when necessary but also being able to be proactive in finding solutions and work by myself. I am competent, reliable and have a positive attitude towards all things.
