Based in London, Philippa is a playwright and producer. Her plays include: Something Happened on my Street, I Don’t Live Here Anymore, [Un]Known Unknowns, Putting Words in my Mouth and Wrecking Ball.
Philippa started out as an intern at the Traverse Theatre and Actors Touring Company, before taking the reigns of outdoor arts company Nutkhut as Project Coordinator, producing and supporting their workshops and performances.
Philippa was an Associate Artist and Producer with Makeshift Broadcast, a Glasgow-based Theatre Company that she helped to set up in 2010. They have produced plays together for the past four years, including a lot of Philippa’s own writings.
Philippa has been mentored by the Playwrights' Studio, Scotland and completed an MA in Writing for Performance at Goldsmiths College, University of London in 2013. Most recently, Philippa organised the View From Here: Festival of Scottish New Writing at Theatre503, and she is currently producing Trench at The Pleasance, London.
Philippa started an online writing project called #250for250 in 2013 where she wrote a 250-word play or poem every day for 250 days. She now tries to write everyday. For more information about this project, please visit her blog mannionaise.com.
