Lee is a London-based playwright and screenwriter from Hull.

Since 2008, Lee has been selected for new writing attachments with Hull Truck, West Yorkshire Playhouse, the Royal Exchange Manchester, Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse and the Royal Court. In 2009, he also completed his MA in Writing for Performance & Publication at the University of Leeds.

Lee has also had short plays performed at Hull Truck (CLASH OF THE TARTANS), Contact Theatre (MAKING CONTACT & TAINTED), Southwark Playhouse (LIVING WITH STRANGERS; chosen as part of the Little Pieces of Gold showcase) and the Old Vic Tunnels (co-writer 'AVE IT!). In 2009, Lee's new full length play WHEN DOMINOES FALL was performed at Hull Truck as part of their Play, A Pie & A Pint season.

In 2012, Lee took part in the MAKE AN ARIA project in conjunction with Music Theatre Wales and Opera North; his original Aria LOOK AT ME NOW (composed by Laurence Tompkins) was performed at Opera North. He was also selected as one of two mentee writer's on attachment for the West Yorkshire Playhouse's week-long New Writing Festival; creating new work each day inspired by the City of Leeds. In the summer of 2013, Lee was also selected as one of six writers to co-create and write a one hour site-specific show THE LOVE INN, commissioned by Octagon Theatre Bolton and The Alligator Club.

His radio plays were longlisted for the BBC's Writer's Prize 2013 (final 35 of 1200 submissions) and the BBC's Alfred Bradley Bursary Award 2013/2014 (final 21).

Lee has worked extensively with Old Vic New Voices. He was selected for The 24 Hour Plays 2011 and his short play FIFTEEN MINUTES won the Time Warner IGNITE 5 competition, which was subsequently made into a short film. Most recently, he wrote The Old Vic's Christmas show POP UP PANTO; a new pantomime created for 6-11 year olds to reflect the experiences of multicultural, multi-faith young people growing up in London. An evaluation for the project can be found here: http://oldvictheatre-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/File/1810.pdf. In 2014, he was also shortlisted (final 3) for the TS Eliot commission to write a new play for young people.

Lee's first original short film THE NEST EGG produced by Stealing Horses Productions is currently in post production (completed October 2015) and his second short THE HIT is currently looking for funding.

Lee has also worked as a Speech/Script Writer for Kevin Spacey and IWC Schaffhausen (Salon International De La Haute Horlogerie in Geneva) and for Saatchi & Saatchi.

Lee is currently under commission to Sixteen Feet Productions (2015 revamp of the Pop Up Panto). He is also working on new work for theatre, film and television.
