I am a recent graduate in the MA in Visual Anthropology at the Granada Centre, University of Manchester currently working freelance on filming and research projects locally and internationally.
The MA was a highly intensive anthropological film, still image and sound making course that combines ethnographic and anthropological research with practical training in documentary film-making and editing, photography and sound recording, and anthropological methods.
My final MA piece entitled 'A Dame's Tale' is an ethnographic portrait that follows famed drag queen (Dame) Gracy of Ancoats, Manchester. Now living in a sheltered housing site for elderly people - Victoria Square, this (sometimes outrageous) film addresses tales of past, present and future through stories of frocks, flowers and fireworks.
I am currently in post production of some short films produced for an NGO in Nepal that I worked on alongside a photographer for several weeks.
