About
Myah Jeffers is a Barbadian-British award winning documentary and portrait photographer, dramaturg and director, living and working in London.
She is currently the Literary Associate at The Royal Court Theatre and was previously the New Work Coordinator at Talawa Theatre Company. Myah is a recent graduate of the South London Gallery Film School.
Myah’s work interrogates themes of diasporic identity, mental health, Queer existence and intergenerational dynamics within Black communities.
She is currently co-directing the Hope Project with Kirsty Housley for Clean Break Theatre Company, is part of the London Creative Network (LCN) programme with Four Corners and is also an artist on the ALTRUVIOLET programme led by Ivan Blackstock.
Myah recently premiered her debut short film “There is No Healing in Silence” (2020) at the Convergence Community Film Festival. Produced by Burnt Lemon Theatre, this project is a portrait series and experimental short film that explores the various modes of communal & individual healing that people, who exist within Black communities, can access.
