Emily is a Shakespeare consultant, text coach, and an award-winning playwright and director.

As a playwright she won a Fringe First Award for her first play RAINBOW and is now under commission with Paines Plough for their Roundabout Season 2018.

She has just completed COOKIES - a new play opening on the 29th October at the Theatre Royal Haymarket exploring the cyber lives of young people. She also recently took part in Paines Plough's 'Come to Where I'm From' project, performing her short play DARK MATTER.

As a text and Shakespeare coach she was trained and mentored by Giles Block (Head of Text at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre), her productions for Shakespeare’s Globe include The Tempest (Dir. Jeremy Herrin); A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Dir. Dominic Dromgoole); and King Lear (Dir. Bill Buckhurst).

She has worked as text coach for the National Youth Theatre company. Productions as text and voice coach include Romeo and Juliet for the Ambassadors Theatre (Dir. Katy Hewitt); The Tempest for Royal & Derngate (Dir. Caroline Steinbeis).

She was Head and Chair of the prestigious Poel Event - an annual Shakespeare training course for professional actors at the National Theatre run by top industry practitioners including Ian McKellen, Greg Doran, Jeremy Herrin, Timothy West Barbara Houseman and Jeannette Nelson.

She teaches Shakespeare at Lamda and at the Globe.
