Sporting Success & Introduction Into Media -
My passion for media and public speaking started after my sporting success in the sport of Taekwondo, where I competed for Team GB and bagged myself a Commonwealth Gold Medal.
I've since been headhunted by a media student in Leeds to be the star of a documentary about my Taekwondo success. The documentary should be released a the end of this year.
Involvement With Media Stations & Public Speaking Platforms -
I made appearances on a number of radio stations and quickly found myself in the world of YouTube, where I educate people on autism and mental health, inspiring those with the conditions to reach their full potential.
In the last year, I worked closely with the BBC, working on a video for BBC Radio Manchester, appearing on the station for an interview, but also a podcast created by Louise Croombs.
I was invited to speak at the Sunday Assembly in Manchester, which then led to me being invited to do a motivational speech at a special needs school called 'Redwood Secondary School'. I did some free Taekwondo sessions with the students and spent the rest of the day motivating the students 1 to 1.
Academic Success, Roles Of Responsibility & Special Awards -
My academic interests took me to the University Of Manchester, where I studied Biomedical Sciences w/ Industrial experience and made an independent documentary for my final year project.
I was the 1st year's student rep, and eventually graduated with a 2:1 and received the Manchester Leadership Award for my 70+ hours of volunteering at a local Taekwondo club in Oldham - Manchester.
I liaised with the student union and the university staff, working with the disability policy-makers, becoming a mental health ambassador and producing a video or two for the university Twitter account.
