About
I am an abstract, visual thinker able to turn my hand to a range of design disciplines, from materials-based product design (Fixperts Project) to digital graphic-design briefs (Mindfulness @ Work) - more details of these are on my website: http://brendanjames.businesscatalyst.org.uk. I am pro-active in learning new software (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Muse) to enable me to execute ideas and develop my studio skills. Areas I specialise in are in 2D illustration, print and web layout, and photography/image editing. I am also interested in exploring animation as well as 3D modelling for product design. I work hard, am engaged, motivated and strong in a team - I always strive to produce my best work, and believe that good design should inspire, provoke audiences and push boundaries where appropriate. Ultimately, it all comes down to making a contribution towards the greater good. "The best way to predict the future is to create it."
Outside of design, I'm a lover of strangeness, coffee, nature, adventure, nightlife, interesting people and the promotion of equal rights. I work part-time in a bar, from which I've established a strong circle of friends. I aim to see the best in people, strive to keep busy, and keep my head held up with a bright, positive disposition (with the aid of much caffeine).
