Amélie Ravalec is a London-based documentary & VR director, video editor and colourist.
She is currently directing her third documentary: Art & Mind is a journey into art, madness and the unconscious, an exploration of visionary artists and the creative impulse, from the Flemish Masters of the Renaissance to the avant-garde movement of Surrealism and the unsung geniuses of Art Brut and Outsider Art.
Amélie has also been working as a freelance video editor and colourist for the last nine years internationally. Clients include Agent Provocateur, BBC, David Beckham, Eurostar, H&M, Google, Johnnie Walker, Nike, Porsche, Warner Bros, WWF.
She co-founded the VR production company Circle Time, based in Paris and London, with clients including Musée d'Orsay, Opéra de Paris, SNCF and FNSEA. Amélie is also editing the VR feature film Fan Club, starring Sylvie Testud, Mathieu Kassovitz and Denis Lavant, to be released late 2018.
Her previous documentary Industrial Soundtrack For The Urban Decay traces the origins of Industrial music, from the crumbling industrial cities of Europe to America’s thriving avant-garde scene. Industrial Soundtrack opened theatrically May 2015 with over 130 screenings in 30 countries, and was acquired by ARTE TV in 2017.
Ravalec’s debut film Paris/Berlin: 20 Years Of Underground Techno documents the underground movement of techno through the lens of two very different cities, from secret Parisian parties to Berlin’s infamous Berghain club. Paris/Berlin was released in 2012 in 18 countries and won the Festival Pick Award at Sydneys Fringe Festival in 2013.
