About
Hi, I'm a recent graduate from RWCMD in BA(Hons) Design for Performance. I specialise in making period costume and designing for the present day.
To say that costume has been a lifelong passion would be a lie. I came to RWCMD with an interest in theatre, but over my course of study I have come to realise that it’s specifically creating characters through costume that’s my real love.
Whether we admit it or not, we all judge people by the way they look and theatre is no exception. Every part of the design and making process has to be leading towards a final goal of presenting an authentic and convincing character. Collaboration is vital. If the actor embodying that character doesn’t truly inhabit their costume, it isn’t right. Communication is key: between the maker, the director, the actor and most importantly, the audience.
