About

Julie’s vision for driving stories from their initial concept through to the screen sees her working across all stages of productions, from development through financing, recruitment, physical production, delivery, distribution and licensing.

Julie has helped to craft over 100 hours of award-winning film and television in the course of her 19-year career, nine of which have been in production management. She has worked internationally across a diverse range of genres – studio flagships Game of Thrones and Highlander: Endgame ; 130 episodes of kids’ TV; indie movies such as Young Adam ; drama specials like Small Island ; costume dramas such as The Wyvern Mystery , along with long-running Sunday evening staples such as Monarch of the Glen .

The Climb and Sparrow produced by Julie through Northern Ireland Screen’s Access Shorts scheme are being extremely well received at international film festivals. Sparrow recently won Audience Choice Award at Film Devour 25, while A Sign of Things, produced for RTE Storyland in 2017, reached number 1 on RTE player. This year Julie is concentrating on producing more shorts, as well as finessing and financing feature-length projects.

Equally skilled on both the creative and business sides of screen production she ensures the schedule, budget and resources deliver only the very highest on screen production values.

Julie is passionate about inspiring the next generation of filmmakers. She is Creative Skillset's Northern Ireland mentor for their Film/HE TV trainee scheme. She lectures part time in Interactive and Creative Media at NRC. Previously she sat on the committee for the Royal Television Society Northern Ireland and on steering groups to ensure further education is aligned with employers’ needs.

In 2018 she launched the inaugural NI Short Film Awards, already affectionately know as the Nordies, to recognise the strength of the region's short film sector and to bring everyone together for a night of networking and celebrate.
