Claire Willoughby

Theatre Maker & Perfomer

  • Location: Glasgow
  • Freelancer: Available Soon

I am a theatre maker, performer and musician based in Glasgow. I create devised work and re-imaginings of classic texts that are often inquisitive, visually stimulating and darkly humourous.

I enjoy making solo and collaborative theatre and cabaret using live music, physical movement and storytelling, and am one half of children’s theatre company Giddy Aunt, with Sarah Macdonald. Our most recent piece, Gorgon, was commissioned for the Imaginate Festival 2015 and also performed as part of the Suitcase Prize at Pulse Festival this year.

Over the past couple of years I have worked with Stellar Quines, Catherine Wheels, Conflux and Magnetic North among others. I am currently directing Greater Belfast by Little King (UK tour in 2016), and developing a one-woman cabaret about Mesusa (shown at The Arches, Bethnal Green Working Men's Club and Battersea Arts Centre).
