I am a dance filmmaker. I believe that the choreography of the camera is just as important as the choreography for the body; the two blended together create an art-form that is both beautiful and refined.
During the course of my education and training I discovered her interest in the individual dancer's unique quality of movement. I believe that not one body is identical to another and I am fascinated by watching movement unfold autonomously.
Throughout our training we are taught rules and structures to dance. I want to challenge this, and work with dancers to find their own style and exceptionality. I was hindered throughout my training as a dancer by lack of confidence and comparing myself to others until I realised that I have my own dance.
My aim as a filmmaker is to draw the audience's eye to the gifts of each dancer I work with. I enjoy experimenting with movement of the camera to create a completely different presentation of the body in motion or even, stillness.
