About

I work in feature film production. I'm also a freelance writer of film, TV and content.

I moved to London in 2015 after realising my master's degree in Biomechanics was more likely to be a fabulously bland piece of art on the wall, rather than get me a job. Luckily I didn't realise that all it takes to get started in the film industry is adoration for film, addiction to the pursuit of working within it and a drive to progress without having any money for 5 years. Thankfully, I had all those traits and a friend coaxed me down to London to pursue the dream job career, rather than the safe option I was going for.

Over four years later, I've worked in post-production and production for film, TV, commercials, music videos and corporate. Initially I was aiming to work in production, therefore gaining a lot of experience in that area. But slowly using my jobs as my film school, and learning about the craft of screenwriting in my free time, I realised that story is what I want to work on.

I am still torn between production/development and actually writing myself. Ideally I'd love to do both because I love both so much. I love reading stories, recognising what works and what doesn't and trying to figure out the reason why. I enjoy the production process, so am currently helping multiple people with their projects as the producer. But I also have 3700 ideas that I need to get out my head, so I have room to ingest more film.

I have feature, TV, web and short scripts that I've finished and/or am working on. I'm still learning my voice and the style I'm suited to, but I love almost all genres so feel I'd want to work on a breadth of styles. Be it my own work or aiding others.

In terms of tasks I’ve developed ideas, created pitches/treatments, personal assisted, provided coverage, worked on pre-production documents, researched extensively and worked on set for many productions. Due to working from post through to (some) distribution, I've gained a good overview of the whole process and now looking for the best way to use my skills and knowledge to create lasting art.
