About
Hello!
My name is Mark! I’m in my third year of studying Animation at Ulster University, Belfast, now in a placement year for professional practise. You can find most of my recent work on my website: www.markgmullan.com
My interests in industry so far lie in CG lighting and texturing elements, and I really find myself at home in art direction and narrative and design processes. My last semester was spent with a Belfast company on their venture into VR storytelling based on children’s story books, and with an experience design mindset, I have strong interests in exploring 360 Video and VR content for pursuing future projects myself. I’m keen to gain a lot of production pipeline experience and I would love the opportunity to work on a variety of animated content, ranging from the traditional 3D content right through to exploring virtual reality.
I’m most experienced in 3D, creating shorts with character animations, modelling, rigging and lighting/ texturing, but I also have experience in short video work and creating branded pieces for small businesses and organisations. I have learnt the fundamentals of storyboarding, narrative and the key practical and design skills needed to work in the industry. I excel at both creative and administrative production roles and have often found myself in a leadership position as I lead teams through design narratives, from ideation through conceptualisation and refinement, until an outcome has been produced and iterated upon.
