I am a freelance Actor and Producer, Theatre Manager of the Old Red Lion and Curator of the London Horror Festival.

As part of my role joining the LHF 2015, and their dedication to support new work in the performing arts, I launched a short play competition for writers of all abilities to submit a 10-15min script under the theme 'It's Not What It Seems'. I have always been an avid follower of new writing in the theatre and I relish the opportunity to create new platforms for fellow creatives to stage their work. We received around 200 entries and shortlisted 3 finalists who then went on to have their work staged by a professional cast and crew on the opening night of the festival. I was fortunate enough to direct one of the pieces, which were judged by horror legends and authors Nicholas Vince and Barbie Wilde, who continue to support the festival's work (Nicholas came onboard as our first official Patron in 2016). I was especially pleased to learn that it was the first time the winning writer had ever had her worked produced. The winner went on to write a full-length version of the play, which was staged at the Black Box Festival at the Etcetera Theatre in January 2016 and received 4* reviews.

For the LHF 2016 the competition theme was 'Badass Women'. This was largely in response to the lack of leading female roles in the theatre and to all the castings that simply state 'the wife, the girlfriend, etc' as if that is the only relevant thing about her. I also wanted to challenge the misogyny label that some people attach to the horror genre and take the lead in placing women centre stage - women with interesting stories and complex characters like the iconic Ripley, Sarah Connor, Buffy, Clarice Starling; all legendary forces to be reckoned with in the genre.

This year I am working alongside the Old Red Lion Theatre Literary Department to present the LHF 2017 playwriting competition.

I graduated from the Lincoln School of Performing Arts with First-Class Honours and the Drama Award for Best Overall Achievement before going on to study for my Masters at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. I was then very fortunate to gain the opportunity to train with Clowning Master Philippe Gaulier at Circus Space in 2012. I have also taken courses with Peta Lily and Mick Barnfather.

I have delved into various areas of the theatre industry, from Acting to Writing to Clowning to Archiving. After volunteering as an Archivist at the Mander and Mitchenson Theatre Collection at Trinity College and seeing off its move to Bristol, I was offered the role of Archivist Intern at the Victoria and Albert Museum and had the very unique opportunity to set-up the Young Vic Theatre's own archive at the V&A's Theatre Department in Blythe House. This involved working entirely independently at both the Young Vic and Blythe House, approaching various departments and purging them of unwanted items with potential historical value, and digitiizing the collection ready to be catalogued. I am very passionate about history and the preservation of artefacts and I would love to see more invested into theatre archiving.
