Widening the Lens: developing new filmmaking talent

Designed to remove barriers and increase opportunities for under-represented filmmakers, Widening the Lens 2019 will be delivered across three days in Bristol and will consist of masterclasses, roundtable discussions, workshops and film screenings. Applications are sought from filmmakers at the entry stages of their career, looking for guidance on how to progress their ambitions.

Who is the scheme for?
UK based filmmakers who self-identify themselves as from an underrepresented group, as outlined by the BFI Diversity Guidelines, these are:
- Filmmakers from a BAME background
- Filmmakers with disabilities
- LGBTQI+ Filmmakers
- Female Filmmakers
