ScreenSkills supporters' BAFTA wins

Congratulations to ScreenSkills supporters for their success at the 2020 BAFTA Craft Awards including Chernobyl which proved the night’s big winner.

Chernobyl won seven honours including photography and lighting: fiction sponsored by the High-end TV Skills Fund which went to Jakob Ihre.

Peaky Blinders, Top Boy and Succession also received awards in hair and make-up, scripted casting and writer: drama respectively at the online ceremony on Friday 17 July. As a reminder that high-end is not only drama, our congratulations and thanks also extend to Seven Worlds, One Planet.

All five productions have supported skills and training in the industry by contributing to the High-end TV Skills Fund.

The BBC and Channel 4, who both contribute to the TV Skills Fund, were also honoured for programmes including The Last Survivors, the 2019 coverage of the Glastonbury Festival, Strictly Come Dancing and Stath Lets Flats.

Writer Aisling Bea won the breakthrough talent award, sponsored by Sara Putt Associates, for This Way Up from Channel 4 and Merman TV.
