Edit producer: essentials is a one day course designed to help you understand the creative and practical skills needed to edit produce brilliant factual television.
A mix of hands-on exercises and shared real-life experiences from the cutting room will give you a toolkit for navigating the edit, from organising your material to implementing commissioner changes.
You’ll get the chance to hone your storytelling skills using material from broadcast productions, and will leave you equipped to tackle common challenges - from communicating with your editor to coping with criticism.
The course will provide you with the tools of the trade to confidently manage the offline edit process from the moment you walk into the suite to delivering a polished fine cut.

- using music effectively
- handling viewings and notes
Who it's for
Producer/directors or assistant producers considering working as an edit producer, people already working as an edit producer, and anyone interested in being an edit producer.
Cancellations must be in writing and must be received at least seven days prior to the course date or the full fee will be charged.
