Updated careers section sheds light on screen jobs
9th October 2019
Newly updated career resources on the ScreenSkills website shed light on screen job roles and pathways into the industry.
The job profiles pages, which form part of the ScreenSkills Careers website section, provide valuable information and advice about different careers across the screen industry. This includes role descriptions, case studies, skills required and practical steps for how to break into screen.
Individuals can browse the job profiles to see the range of departments and roles in screen, or search for a specific role. Each profile also includes a list of relevant skills or education that may be required to get into the roles, starting with relevant A-levels, Highers or vocational qualifications.
The online resource has been designed to provide up-to-date information and guidance in a dynamic and quick-moving industry.
Screen is a dynamic and fast-moving industry and finding up-to-date information and guidance as a student or young person can be a barrier to entry. By expanding these online resources, ScreenSkills seeks to respond to the industry need for new talent in key roles - it's impossible to attract young people to screen industry jobs if they don't know the jobs exist.
The range of job profiles span film and TV drama, VFX, games and animation and will soon be expanding into unscripted television. We welcome industry engagement to continue providing the most relevant information, while also strengthening the connections between industry and future talent.
