Stan and Ollie world premiere to close BFI London Film Festival
9th August 2018
UK film Stan and Ollie has been chosen to be the closing night gala film at this year's 62nd BFI London Film Festival. This world premiere will take place on 21 October at the Cineworld, Leicester Square, London with simultaneous preview screenings taking place at cinemas across the UK.
The movie stars Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly as the legendary movie comedy duo and is directed by Jon S. Baird, written by BAFTA award-winning Jeff Pope and produced by Faye Ward for Fable Pictures.
We are especially pleased that as a Film Investment Fund cntributing film, the producers were able to place five Trainee Finder trainees on the shoot at Pinewood Studios, giving new entrants to the film industry valuable early experience at the start of their careers in film.
Other investment fund contributing films announced for prestigious autumn film festival screenings include:
- The Death and Life of John F. Donovan (dir. Xavier Dolan), Colette (dir. Wash Westmoreland), In Fabric (dir. Peter Strickland), Out of Blue (dir. Carol Morley), Red Joan (dir. Trevor Nunn), Where Hands Touch (dir. Amma Asante) at Toronto International Film Festival
- Peterloo (dir. Mike Leigh) and The Favourite at Venice International Film Festival
- The Favourite (opening night film) and Ray & Liz (dir. Richard Billingham) at New York Film Festival
