High-end TV Trainee Finder contributions increased

Creative Skillset has taken the decision to revert back to offering a 50% contribution to newly-enquiring productions taking on trainees from our High-end TV Trainee Finder programme with effect from 1 November 2017.
In July 2017 the contribution was reduced to 30% for up to three trainees for 36 weeks. Feedback from production companies paying into the High-end TV Levy and accessing Trainee Finder has been that this change was resulting in a reduction in trainee placements being offered due to the additional costs incurred to provide the remaining 70%.
Our priority is to ensure we are delivering the best opportunities for new entrants to access the industry and therefore as of 1 November, productions will be able to access up to three trainees for up to 16 weeks with the High-end TV Levy contributing up to 50% of a maximum £450 weekly training allowance.
Since it's re-launch in July 2017, Trainee Finder has seen many positive changes introduced in response to industry feedback, including an industry picked annual cohort of 75 trainees, the introduction of dedicated pastoral care support for each trainee, the provision of short courses on finance for freelancers, branding and networking, health and safety as well as an introduction to a network of supporters offering advice and guidance. All these changes are designed to give every trainee the best chance of success to kick start their career.
Placements in 2017 included Killing Eve, Outlander, Harlots, The Innocents, A Very English Scandal, and Good Omens.
