Help us update the creative media modern apprenticeship framework in Scotland

Call the Midwife © BBC/Neal Street Productions

ScreenSkills is asking for industry feedback on its update of the creative media modern apprenticeship framework of Scotland, which covers roles in content production and production support for film, TV, radio, audio and journalism.

We have been working with leading employers, regulatory and professional bodies in Scotland to identify which revision are required to ensure that the creative media diploma - the qualification that sits at the heart of the framework – reflects the skills that are needed to work in the screen industries.

To make sure that the updated creative media diploma reflect what currently is considered best practice in the industry, we encourage professionals to download the draft version of the update here and send any feedback to krisztina.biliczky@screenskills.com  by 17.00 on Tuesday 8 October 2019.

Please invite anyone else who might want to have a say to participate in the consultation.

If you choose to give feedback, please give use your thoughts on the duties that underpin the knowledge, skills and behaviours identified so far and add anything that you feel is missing.

We ask you to consider the following three things when looking at the revised creative media diploma structure:

  • Do you agree with the qualification title?
  • Do you agree with the recommended unit titles?
  • Do you agree with the proposed qualification strategy? Please consider the mandatory and optional unit requirement.

Upcoming Standards
We will be asking for further input from industry in upcoming months on Apprenticeship Standards in England.

If you are interested in joining the employer working groups to discuss the Apprenticeship Standards or have queries regarding the development process, please contact us at apprenticeships@screenskills.com
