We are delighted that many of the productions that contributed to the Film Skills Fund - which invests in training for the industry - are in the running for awards at the 21st British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs).
Like last year, nominees were selected by a panel of industry professionals who received bespoke unconscious bias training, which was commissioned by ScreenSkills and BIFA in an attempt to make the voting process as fair, inclusive and diligent as possible.
Wild Rose received 10 nominations, including some for behind-the-camera facets of filmmaking such as costume design, hair and make-up and sound. It will also go head-to-head with fellow Skills Fund contributor The Souvenir in the category best independent film.
The Souvenir is in the running for a total of eight BIFAs and In Fabric received nominations in nine categories, including best cinematography and best effects.
