Employers needed to introduce young people to industry

Can you help inspire the next generation of talent? Would you be able to open your doors for a day to show young people of secondary school age what it is really like to work in the screen industries?

ScreenSkills is looking for employers across film, television, VFX, animation and games to take part in Discover! Creative Careers, a week-long event this autumn designed to inform the next generation of workers about jobs within the creative industries.

You do not need to worry about recruiting schools and full resource packs and templates will be made available to support willing participants. You could do a tour, run a demonstration or deliver a workshop – the choice is yours.

What we are looking for today is your expression of interest. If you would like to discuss further playing a part in helping UK screen find the new and diverse talent the sector needs, please contact us at ccp@screenskills.com

Discover! Creative Careers will run 18-22 November as part of the Creative Careers Programme being delivered by ScreenSkills with Creative & Cultural Skills and the Creative Industries Federation. The programme also includes training careers advisers and an online portal to the range of jobs available in the creative industries.

The ambition of the programme is to reach more than 160,000 students through face-to-face encounters by 2020, with around 2 million young people accessing information online.

It is operating in England as the Government investment of £2 million was awarded as part of the special deal for the creative industries under the industrial strategy. Skills is a devolved issue. However, we will share materials we produce for the initiative with parties across the UK.
