2018 Production Guild Spotlight Award winner announced

Ruby Avards, a graduate of the Production Guild Assistant Production Accountants Training Scheme (APATS), supported by ScreenSkills' Film Skills Fund, has won the 2018 Production Guild Spotlight Award.  The award, sponsored by Pinewood MBS Lighting, acknowledges an individual in a junior role who has shown tenacity and ability, great support to their team and a willingness to learn.

Ruby started her career in leisure and tourism accounting before shifting her focus to film and TV in 2012. Since graduating from APATS, she has worked as a production accountant on films such as Cinderella (Disney), On Chesil Beach (Number 9 Films/BBC Films) and most recently Aladdin (Disney).

Maxine Stanley, production accountant on On Chesil Beach said: "I have found Ruby's dedication to her work outstanding and her unstinting support for her team second to none. I strongly believe that one day Ruby is going to be one of the high-profile financial controllers in our industry.”
