Workshop: Your professional story

  • When: 18th Jun 2020, 10:00-11:15
  • Organised by: ScreenSkills
  • Location: Online
  • Price: Free
  • Age: 18+

Being able to sell ourselves is a core skill of being a freelancer but we are often too close to our own story to do that well. In this session, you'll be furnished with some tools to stand back, see your unique value and talk about it with confidence.

Speaker

Ann Booth-Clibborn’s career started in features and formats, and her shows include the ground-breaking Changing Rooms for BBC ONE, and returning series, Selling Houses and You Are What You Eat for C4. For the last 8 years Ann has worked as an Edit Doctor for Discovery UK, turning around documentary series and one-offs that have lost their way in the edit. Ann also runs a story coaching business, helping businesses and individuals build storytelling skills, to communicate their story effectively.

This event is supported by the ScreenSkills Television Skills Fund which invests in training for the freelance television workforce thanks to contributions from the BBC, Channel 4 and Channel 5.

It is part of a ScreenSkills programme managed by the Indie Training Fund to support freelancers to upskill and stay connected, helping keep the industry resilient in these difficult times.

This session will take place online via Zoom. Click ‘get ticket’ to reserve your place: you must login or register before you are able to get a ticket for this event. A booking confirmation with a joining link to the session will be sent to you via email.
