Workshop: Negotiation and communication

This course is for anyone using negotiating in their everyday business eg: CEOs/MDs, heads of production, sales managers/directors, commercial/legal staff, producers & development teams in production and/or distribution companies.
This is a practical workshop over 5 sessions (please note that there wil be 2 sessions on Friday, 29th May) that will give you tools with which to build on existing techniques, increase your awareness of yourself and others, and learn some new rapport building techniques.
Whether you spend much of your time pitching/presenting, or more on relationship-building and communication, this course will suit anyone who wants to enhance their ability to convince people (i.e. when selling ideas), improve feedback about pitching/presentation style (from internal & external sources), enhance communication/ rapport-building, increase self-confidence/willingness to pitch and present and improve listening skills.

You must be able to commit to attending all sessions in this proramme:
- Tuesday, 26th May: 10am - 11.15am
- Wednesday, 27th May: 10am - 11.15am
- Thursday, 28th May: 10am - 11.15am
- Friday, 29th May: 10am - 11.15am AND 3pm - 4pm
Caroline Beaton has worked in the TV industry for over 20 years and is one of its leading consultants and rights specialists. She was Joint MD of Carlton TV’s production company Action Time for many years, and spent 5 years before that at MTV Networks as Senior Director of International Programme Enterprises.
She left Action Time in 2004 to set up her own company, Road Trip Media, which specialises in consultancy and coaching/training. Caroline has spearheaded business mentoring and executive coaching schemes on behalf of many organisations including Pact, UKTV and several of the regional screen agencies. She is also a Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming.
This event is supported by the ScreenSkills Television Skills Fund which invests in training for the freelance television workforce thanks to contributions from the BBC, Channel 4 and Channel 5.
It is part of a ScreenSkills programme managed by the Indie Training Fund to support freelancers to upskill and stay connected, helping keep the industry resilient in these difficult times.
