  • When: 22nd Jun 2020, 11:30-12:45
  • Organised by: ScreenSkills
  • Location: Online
  • Price: Free
  • Age: 18+

This masterclass will offer career information and insight from Alexandra Arlango, Head of Development at Caryn Mandabach Productions.

Alexandra, who has also run The Brit List for over a decade, will be sharing the insights and top tips for writers and creatives that she has acquired over a long career in both film and television as one of the UK industry’s top development executives.

Alexandra will be talking through the three stages of script development:

  • the 'light bulb' moment – finding the writer and idea. As Jack London said “You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club”
  • wrestling with the story – the journey of bringing the idea to life. To quote Stephen King “To write is human, to edit is divine”
  • gift wrapping the project – tackling the last hurdle of finding a home for your story when as William Goldman understood, “Nobody knows anything!”

Time will be allowed for Q & A
