The scale and volume of today's TV drama productions mean that heads of department (HoDs)s are increasingly required to run larger teams and manage staff. Are they really getting the best from their teams, and addressing underperformance? Do they know how to deal with allegations of harassment or bullying? Or how to crew up effectively – and improve the diversity of productions while staying within the law?

This is a bespoke course owned by ScreenSkills High-end Television Skills Fund, for freelance heads of department and anyone who manages people on high-end TV productions.

Course modules will cover:

  • crewing up & unconscious bias
  • managing performance
  • dealing with bullying & harassment
  • effective team management and personality styles
  • discrimination and dismissal

The course was designed by industry trainer Addie Orfila and is delivered by a team of experienced executive coaches.

This course will take place over five days from Monday, 24th August to Friday 28th August at 10am until 11.30am each day. You must be able to commit to all five sessions.

This course will also run 20th - 24th July.  To apply for those dates click here.

This session will take place online via Zoom. Click ‘apply for ticket’ and follow the instructions to apply for your place: you must login or register before you are able to complete your application.
