For 2nd ADs interested in becoming 1st ADs, this training session focuses on the essential skills you need to step up into this demanding role, with a particular emphasis on scheduling and managing under 18s on set or in studio.

Experienced trainer and 1st AD Jez Marshall and Grand Scheme Media's Mark Robson will host the training across two sessions . They will set an exercise to be completed offline between sessions so you must be available to do this, and to attend both sessions in the block.

Training dates:

Wednesday 17th June - 10am - 1pm
Thursday 18th June - 10am - 1pm

As there are only a very limited number of places, they will be allocated via a ballot system to give all those interested a fair chance to secure a place. You will have the opportunity to apply for more than one block to maximise your chances of selection.

Applications close at midnight on Wednesday, 29th April. Successful candidates will be confirmed via email soon afterwards.

This event is supported by the ScreenSkills Children’s TV Skills Fund which invests in training for those working in children’s live-action TV thanks to contributions from the industry.

It is part of a ScreenSkills programme designed to support freelancers to upskill and stay connected, helping keep the industry resilient in these difficult times.

This session will take place online via Zoom. Click ‘apply for ticket’ to join the ballot: you must login or register before you are able to apply for this event. Before the start of the session, a joining link will be sent to you via email.
