This masterclass will offer career information and insight from writer Lisa Holdsworth.

Lisa will discuss how to make a start as a TV writer:

  • How do you get your work read?
  • Should you get an agent?
  • How do you keep writing when the world is going crazy around you?


Lisa Holdsworth has been a professional TV writer for 20 years and has worked on shows such as Midsomer Murders, Call The Midwife, Ackley Bridge and A Discovery of Witches. She is also the Chair of the Writers’ Guild and involved in campaigns to protect and support writers in the UK.

This event is supported by the ScreenSkills Television Skills Fund which invests in training for the freelance television workforce thanks to contributions from the BBC, Channel 4 and Channel 5.

It is part of a ScreenSkills programme designed by media consultant Donna Taberer to support freelancers to upskill and stay connected, helping keep the industry resilient in these difficult times.
