ScreenSkills HETV Skills Fund are presenting a series of online industry expert led learning sessions, to support freelancers continue to develop their skills in the HETV industry during the Covid-19 crisis.
These interactive sessions will each focus on different HETV grades and departments and give participants “how to guides” as well as sharing knowledge and expertise, insights and an overview of a variety of practical skills and processes from industry experts, as well as advice to help them further develop their career in HETV.
Almost everything you wanted to know about the work of an intimacy coordinator is aimed at freelancers working in the HETV industry, who are keen to understand more about one of the newest and most challenging roles in production. The session will explain the work of an intimacy coordinator and is aimed at freelancers working in the HETV industry, who are keen to understand more about one of the newest roles in production. This session led by Yarit Dor, Enric Ortuno and Shoni Wilkinson will discuss the key responsibilities, priorities and challenges of working on a production for an Intimacy Coordinator from prep into shoot, as well as how they work collaboratively across the production with other departments. The session aims to demystify this role, showing its importance in production and the way intimacy coordination is evolving within production.

Yarit Dor (she/her) is an IDC Certified Intimacy Coordinator. Her intimacy coordination credits include: The Wheel of Time (Amazon), Adult Material (Channel 4), Domina (Sky TV), Spanish Princess Season 2 (Starz), Cheaters (BBC Studios/Clerkenwell), White Lines Ep9-10 (Netflix), Carnival Row Ep4 (Amazon), The Nevers Ep1-2 (HBO), Bridgerton Ep4 (Netflix) amongst others. She contributed to Equity’s Intimacy Working Group’s new guidance, BECTU’s Return To Work Guidance and to Director’s UK guidelines “Directing Nudity & Simulated Sex”.
In the theatre and dance industry, Yarit is an established Fight Director, Movement Director, Dance-Dramaturge and Intimacy Director. In 2019 she was the first to be credited as an ‘Intimacy Director’ on the West End (“Death of A Salesman” starring Wendell Pierce and Sharon D. Clarke).
Her theatre credits include: Shakespeare’s Globe, Young Vic, Manchester Royal Exchange, Almeida, Boulevard, Storyhouse, The Place, Trinity Laban, Derby Dance and more.
For the education sector Yarit taught workshops on intimacy coordination at NFTS, London Film School, UAL’s BA in Film Practice and Raindance. She is a regular movement, physical comedy, stage combat and intimacy tutor in drama schools such as Rose Bruford, East 15, Italia Conti, RADA Short Courses and Shakespeare’s Globe HE department. Yarit is currently the Education Manager and a Lead Tutor on the Intimacy Coordination Certification Programme run by Intimacy For Stage & Screen, an organisation establishing in-depth training for Intimacy Directors and Intimacy Coordinators in the UK.
Enric Ortuño (he/him) is an IDC Certified Intimacy Coordinator.

He is a member of Intimacy for Stage & Screen, a leading organisation establishing training of Intimacy Direction and Coordination to the UK.
Enric teaches regularly at Drama Studio London, Italia Conti, RADA, Central School of Speech and Drama and has taught workshops in Spain, Canada, USA and Germany.
Shoni is a costume designer and maker working in Theatre, Film, Television and for private clientele. As well as contemporary styled costumes, Shoni specialises in making and designing period costumes from 1066-1910. In 2020 she released her first historical fusion collection titled ‘The Art of Queening’ headlining York Fashion Week.
Her work has been featured at Hampton Court Palace, Museum of London and in London's West End. She is also currently the lead designer and maker for the modesty garment company ‘Intimask’ which she co-founded in 2020.
