This free to attend boot camp training course, supported by ScreenSkills, and delivered by the NFM Academy takes place over one day on Friday 13 March and is for anyone looking to break into the TV and Film industries. The Boot camp: Introduction to Screen Industries Careers at the Toffee Factory, Newcastle, will cover working in the industry, freelancing, finances, CVs, networking, looking for work, how to get your foot on the ladder and develop a career in film and TV.
The day will be presented by Matt Gallagher and Jude Winstanley. Matt is the founder of thecallsheet.co.uk and has spent nearly 20 years working in the film and TV industry. He is the author of the industry bestseller ‘Breaking into UK Film and TV Drama’ and has delivered, lead and talked at industry training programmes and events for The Oscars, Warner Bros., Film London & Into Film.
Jude is a freelance, broadcast television Line Producer with 22 years of experience in production. She’s also the founder of TV industry, online jobs board www.theunitlist.com. She is currently working on a new entertainment series for ITV. Jude combines working at the coalface of TV production management with delivering industry training.
You will also be introduced to regional industry professionals who will share their knowledge and experience of the industry in the north east and their top tips for a successful career.
Places are limited - early applications are encouraged and will be considered before the deadline of Wednesday 11 March. The application deadline is midnight. Applicants will be notified by Thursday 12 March.
To apply you need to be over 18 and not in full time education. You do not need any experience to apply but you must be able to attend for the full day. The event runs from 9.15am – 4.30pm on Friday 13 March and refreshments are provided.
