Why choose a Tick course

The Tick identifies courses that can prove they can connect with industry and which teach professional skills to make sure you graduate work-ready. For employers, the Tick signposts work-ready graduates and apprentices from creative courses that have proven to understand and have links with the screen industry.

Showcasing talent

We offer privileged profiling to employers of graduates of Tick courses on our online talent directory. Our marketing explains to employers the value of the Tick and the talent directory provides direct access to the most talented apprentices and graduates. ScreenSkills also provides online networking for Tick course tutors, students and graduates.

Exclusive opportunities

Graduates from Tick courses have privileged access to Trainee Finder, a service that matches trainees with companies across the UK’s animation, film, games, high-end TV and VFX industries. Trainee Finder gives companies quick and easy access to an online directory of the UK’s top trainees and allows employers to claim back a percentage of the trainee’s training allowance and costs.

I would definitely consider looking for the Tick when employing people...I get a lot of emails from students asking me for career advice and I always recommend they look on ScreenSkills' website and look for accredited courses

We offer bursaries for students, either directly, from a £100,000 pot from the British Film Institute awarding National Lottery funds, or through partner organisations, such as the Royal Television Society and BAFTA who privilege Tick courses on their schemes. We also offer funding to students and tutors to attend industry events or to make improvements in courses and equipment.

We run dedicated masterclasses, networking meetings and conferences for Tick courses for sharing best practice and to discuss cross-sector themes.
