Workshop: Managing teams and individuals remotely with David Bliss
Are you adjusting to the reality of managing individuals or a team remotely?
Our online workshop will give participants the opportunity to get the best from their remote teams. We will apply research-based techniques to improve the engagement and productivity of your remote employees, especially in this current situation when there is little time to adjust.
Almost 20% of the UK workforce now works remotely, and with the imposed restrictions of Covid-19 this has pushed the numbers to well over 60%. It’s often not possible to change the situation around us, but it is possible to change the way we react to the new environment. Participants will look at the choices they make and what they could do differently when managing those at home.
The key outcomes we hope people will achieve are:
to maintain productivity and well being in those they supervise
to show staff effective working patterns to manage their time and to continue to get things done
to provide support and to share the same set of expectations for communication
What it covers
Taking place over 3 sessions, the workshop will be a highly practical online exploration into the core elements of managing teams remotely. Key topics that will be covered include:
Business chemistry: understanding how we and others approach remote working allows us to manage with a deeper understanding
Lack of face to face supervision: looking at different ways you can support employees who may be struggling or feel their needs are not being met
Managing time and distractions: exploring the skills required to manage time effectively while working remotely
Social isolation: how to support a strong sense of belonging to the organisation without physical interaction
Technology options: beyond email, a look at the tools that can enhance your team's remote working experience
Further support: ongoing support after the workshop
This course will have limited places allocated by application. Please ensure you are able to attend all 3 sessions:
Tuesday, 6th October 1-2pm
Wednesday, 7th October 1-2pm
Thursday, 8th October 1-2pm
Applications close at midnight on Sunday, 4th October.
