What does it take to be a good digital producer? 

In this session we will hear from Rich Lyman who has forged a career in the world of digital and currently works as executive digital producer at ITV.  Rich will talk through what the job of the entire digital team (from producers to researchers) involves, look at how to be a good digital producer and share tips around how to get your foot in the door. 

If you’re passionate about television and have ever wondered about a career on the digital side, this could be the masterclass for you.

Rich Lyman is an executive digital producer at ITV. He previously worked in television production before side- stepping into the world of digital as an assistant producer where he was responsible for repurposing TV content for online which then expanded to shooting directing and editing original content for social media. Since then he’s worked at several independent production companies as a digital producer. He joined ITV in 2016 and is now responsible for digital outputs across entertainment and drama shows such as The Voice, Soccer Aid, Ninja Warrior, Emmerdale, Saturday Night Takeaway, Britain’s Got Talent, The X Factor and Coronation Street.  

This event is supported by the ScreenSkills Television Skills Fund which invests in training for the freelance television workforce thanks to contributions from the BBC, Channel 4 and Channel 5.

It is part of a ScreenSkills programme managed by the Indie Training Fund to support freelancers to upskill and stay connected, helping keep the industry resilient in these difficult times.
