In this new strand of online sessions which focus on specific roles within tv, you will get the chance to go behind a job title and get the inside track, as told by the people who know these jobs inside out.

If you’ve ever wondered what a particular role actually involves and what it will take to get there as you look to progress in your career - or you are new to the industry and hoping to get some great insider tips to start your career - this could be the masterclass for you.

The speakers will take us through the highs and lows of a specific role, as well as provide top tips and advice about how to carry out the job successfully and how to get that particular role in the first place. This is followed by audience Q&A where you have the chance to ask the experts.

In this session, we look at the role of edit producer with Debbie Reece Bloch and Colette Hooper.

Speakers

Debbie Reece Bloch is an experienced entertainment edit producer with over a decade's worth of industry knowledge. Her credits include Dancing on Ice, TOWIE, X Factor, Comic Relief, Strictly: It Takes Two, The Voice Kids and many more. Debbie also has solid experience of developing new formats such as The Masked Singer, the new Blind Date, Singletown, Carjackers and Channel 5’s 100% Hotter.

Colette Hooper has over a decade’s experience in the cutting room, edit producing popular factual series for all the major UK terrestrial broadcasters. Colette has credits across specialist factual, formats and ob-doc, and has worked on hit series including Your Home Made Perfect (BBC TWO), Junior Doctors (BBC THREE), Great Railway Journeys (BBC TWO), Inside the Ambulance (W), Great Canal Journeys (Channel 4) and Great British Menu (BBC TWO).

This event is supported by the ScreenSkills Television Skills Fund which invests in training for the freelance television workforce thanks to contributions from the BBC, Channel 4 and Channel 5.

It is part of a ScreenSkills programme managed by the Indie Training Fund to support freelancers to upskill and stay connected, helping keep the industry resilient in these difficult times.
