What does it take to be a good researcher or AP in docs series? 

So you want to be... is a strand of online sessions which focuses on specific roles within TV. You will get the chance to go behind a job title and get the inside track, as told by the people who know these jobs inside out.

The speakers will take us through the highs and lows of a specific role, as well as provide top tips and advice about how to carry out the job successfully and how to get that particular role in the first place. This is followed by audience Q&A where you have the chance to ask the experts.

Speakers

Amanda Riley is an AP and Kris Harris is a researcher, both on Channel 4's award winning series 24 Hours in Police Custody.

Amanda started her career at Wall to Wall as a production secretary on Long Lost Family, a series on which she then went on to become a researcher. Since then her AP credits include Junior Doctors (BBC3), 60 Minutes inside the Force (C5) and of course 24 Hours in Police Custody. She's currently working on the latest series of BBC2's Hospital.

Kris started his career at Betty where he spent a stint in development and went on to become Junior Researcher on The Undateables (C4) he has since gone on to research on other hit C4 series such as First Dates Hotel, 24 Hours in A&E and 24 Hours in Police Custody.
