"So you want to be…"

In this new strand of online sessions which focus on specific roles within TV, you will get the chance to go behind a job title and get the inside track, as told by the people who know these jobs inside out.

If you’ve ever wondered what a particular role actually involves and what it will take to get there as you look to progress in your career - or you are new to the industry and hoping to get some great insider tips to start your career - this could be the masterclass for you.

The speakers will take us through the highs and lows of a specific role, as well as provide top tips and advice about how to carry out the job successfully and how to get that particular role in the first place. This is followed by audience Q&A where you have the chance to ask the experts.

In this session, we look at the role of development producer with Matt McGough and Mohammed Adnan. It is part of our week-long focus on the world of unscripted TV development.

Speakers

Matt McGough is Head of Development responsible for managing a team split across London and Manchester. Matt joined MultiStory in 2017 as Development Producer and devised the company’s first BBC3 commission. Before joining MultiStory, Matt worked in development at companies such as BBC, Objective, betty & Kalel. He has specialised in creating forward-thinking factual entertainment formats, from a survival series where the contributors can use Google (Stupid Man, Smart Phone) to a dating show where the daters swap phones (Phone Swap) to CBBC’s first digital-only interactive series (Top This!).

Mohammed Adnan is the UK Head of Development at Pulse Films. Adnan joined Pulse Films as a development producer in October 2018 and became Head of Development after he created and secured BBC Two’s radical new social experiment What Does It Mean To Be White?, developed the upcoming Channel 4 access-led series Inside Missguided and an upcoming Channel 4 film about black hair.
