Production guidance panel: Working safely with children during Covid-19

Huge challenges continue to face an industry that saw many productions postponed or suspended when social distancing measures followed by lockdown were announced.

As the industry begins to ramp up production, one of the most pressing of these challenges is ensuring effective assessment and management of the risk of Covid-19 when working with under-18s. 

The industry came together to establish guidelines to provide guidance and support based on the practical application, within a TV production setting, of the latest Public Health England guidance. A second version was released in mid-July indicating the shifting landscape for producers when considering Coronavirus risk assessments for production. These assessments form the starting point for any production, not least those working with minors within the legal confines of licensing laws, and the added presence on set of chaperones.

ScreenSkills has convened a panel of experts to discuss the second iteration of the guidance and what it means for productions working with those under-18.
