Virtual production is changing the way that content is made. Although seeing is believing, getting hands on in this technical revolution is better. We invite you to join us for training in one of six regional UK locations for a free full day of training delving into the production merits of virtual production.

You’ll receive insights into how virtual production works and access to hands-on experience with the technical equipment, delivered by industry experts. Upon completion, you’ll be equipped with a clear understanding of the virtual production methods, creative potential, job roles required, and how virtual production will impact current roles

Who it's for

This training is aimed at Screenskills Trainee Finders and First Breakers in high-end TV.

There will be 100 places across two days (50x per day)

This training will be face-to-face training at the locations provided.

Welcome and Introduction to the team

Introduction to Virtual Production

How it works - A brief practical demonstration of the technology in a LED volume.
Breakdown of the workflows - how virtual production might influence your department.

Break for a lovely free lunch - networking opportunity, find your next production.

Split into 3 groups and, on a carousel, visit all three of the following practical hands-on sessions:

Session 1.  Build an environment with unreal engine - from zero to hero - An expert guided workshop with Virtual Environment Artists, learn how to make a virtual environment, and use it for a storyboard, previous, shoot or animatics.  We provide each attendee with a top spec PC with all the latest software installed for this session.

Session 2.  Hands-on VP - Shoot a scene in a virtual Ramen bar, learn the tricks and tips of what to avoid and how to make VP look great.  Investigate mo-cap and tracking, analyse colour, cameras and an LED volume.  Understand VP from a DPs perspective.

Session 3.  Production deep dive - create a production design for a VP context and learn how to cost, schedule and manage a VP project from end to end.  5 essential tips to avoiding VP problems that have cost others thousands, and the keys to making your next VP production a great success.
